Joshua Simon

Joshua Simon is an environmental justice and urban forestry professional with extensive experience leading large-scale forestry, sustainability, and community engagement initiatives. Most recently, he served as Senior Manager of Environmental Justice Initiatives at American Forests, overseeing relationships with more than 55 grantees and managing urban forestry portfolios to ensure compliance, accountability, and measurable community impact.

He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Natural Resources from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Forestry and Natural Resources from Southern University and A&M College. At the Community Design Lab, Joshua strengthens program systems, partnerships, and implementation—leading day-to-day operations, coordinating forestry-integrated initiatives, and ensuring strong documentation and outcomes.
