3-Part Virtual Series

This virtual open space campaign, Pardon Our Disruption, included a three-part-virtual event series to kick-off to our end-of-year fundraising campaign. Your support and participation in events like these helps all of us explore new ways to shake up and bring about much needed change and accelerate our efforts to create more healthy, vibrant, and just communities for all.

Session Overview

  • Participants joined us for an interactive workshop focused on learning effective co-creation tools and methods for meaningful community engagement. The workshop was facilitated by The Urban Studio’s creative engagement experts Daví de la Cruz and Jenn Low, with special guests Daniel Villa, who shared his work with Hello Data, and Christin Hu, who discussed her work designing cooperative games. The tools and methods explored centered on key themes in engagement design, including power, co-learning, storytelling, and play.

  • For this session, we held a conversation with Kona Gray, FASLA, PLA, Principal of EDSA and Torey Carter-Conneen the new CEO of the American Society of Landscape Architects, to reimagine the future of landscape architecture. Our US co-founders Kendra Hyson and Maisie Hughes will co-hosted this conversation.

  • Explore the intersection of mapping and social justice with Andrew Sargeant and Jelani Byrd as they demonstrate how to democratize data using open-source assets and live, 3D mapping with QGIS. More details to come!
