For this project, The Urban Studio gathered early engagement ideas for two key sites in the South Central neighborhood to undergo landscape renovation. These landscape renovations were lead by community input and involved the greening of an existing park in the Pueblo del Rio housing facilities, including the WellNess Station Community Center.

Both of these sites experienced increased canopy coverage with the goal of water conservation, ecological capacity building for local residents, and the use of drought-tolerant and California native-planting, and green stormwater infrastructure that can support water capture in the development of a healthier watershed.

These projects were funded through Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the California Natural Resources Agency.
